Search and Rescue Vessel 2

This vessel is designed and built as a search-and-rescue craft. It is designed to have good seakeeping at suitable speed under wind conditions of sea state 6–8. The environmental conditions considered for its operation are 95% humidity, an air temperature of 45 °C and a water temperature of 35 °C. The vessel is designed to operate in the Sea of Oman, the Caspian Sea and the Persian Gulf.

The search-and-rescue vessel has a bollard pull of about 3 tonnes. The hook fitted to the vessel for safe towing is likewise rated at 3 tonnes. A 1-tonne hydraulic crane with a safe reach of 3 meters plus 1 additional meter is provided.

The crew complement of this vessel is 3 persons, but it can be increased to 12 persons.

The vessel’s structure, including its hull and deck, is made of marine-grade aluminum. The propulsion system consists of two engines with waterjet drive. The top speed is 35 knots; in sea state 1–2 this is 30 knots, and the operating speed is 25 knots.

The fuel capacity, given an operating radius of about 500 nautical miles at 25 knots, is 5,000 liters. The fresh-water capacity is 500 liters.
